Get the Facts About a Strike
The UAW is asking the dealers at Caesars and Bally’s to authorize a strike. They try to suggest that a strike authorization is “no big deal” – and that there are no risks or consequences for our employees…
A strike authorization is not a symbolic gesture of solidarity. It is not a negotiating tactic. It is a serious undertaking as it has effects on you, your family, and the Company. We hope the UAW will tell you the truth about strikes. However, because of the importance of this issue, we wanted to ensure you know the facts…and we urge you to GET THE FACTS BEFORE YOU VOTE FOR A STRIKE.
Did you know?
- Once a strike authorization is approved by the membership, the UAW determines if and when you will actually strike – and causes you to have to make the choice between crossing a picket line and taking care of your family’s needs.
- That the UAW Strike benefits will give you only $200 per week to support your family. Our dealers make up to $200 a day!
- Despite the suggestions by the UAW to the contrary…the Company can replace you. And we are prepared to do so. Should you authorize a strike, we will begin interviewing replacements immediately.
- The UAW says it will only strike if there is “strong support” – the best way to show them you don’t support a strike is to NOT VOTE.
As you consider your options, you should also consider whether the UAW’s approach is something you agree with….do you prosper when our customers are inconvenienced, hassled and misinformed? Does encouraging people to stay away from your table benefit you or hurt you? Such behavior represents the UAW’s unwavering commitment to punish an employer without any regard for how it may affect its members.
Should you trust the people who are:
- Spending millions on an ad campaign to tell customers to stay away from Bally’s and Caesars?
- Calling our best customers and telling them not to play with us?
- Stopping customers on the boardwalk and telling them not to enter our Casinos?
The summer is your opportunity to make the highest tokes of the year. If they drive customers away, what do you think will happen to your toke rate?

Our priorities are Atlantic City and our employees here – not impressing the union bigwigs in Detroit. We do not understand why the UAW wants to hurt you, the people they claim they represent and have their best interest in mind. This Company will never allow such tactics to force us to make an agreement that is not in the best interest of the Company.
We are facing difficult economic times and the competition is fierce – and growing every week. We should be working together to bring more business to Atlantic City…not scaring customers away. The choice is in your hands…
Will Atlantic City Thrive and Prosper? Or Become the Next Detroit?
